Description
No. 4 Queen Street is a small town house built in the mid-19th century, with some alterations. It is constructed of red brick in Flemish bond, featuring sandstone dressings and a slate roof. The house has a double-depth, double-fronted plan with a back extension and is designed in a modest Tudor domestic style. It stands two storeys tall and has two windows, arranged symmetrically except for an added canted bay window on the right side. The central doorway is framed by a stone surround and a label, while to the left is a three-light mullion-and-transom window, with two similar windows above. All windows have high transoms, stone surrounds, labels, and horizontal glazing bars in each light. The late 19th-century canted bay window is located on the right. This building forms a group with the adjoining No. 3 on the left and Nos 5 and 6 on the right.
