Description

This is a row of four cottages built as a single unit in the early 19th century, and subsequently altered. The cottages are constructed of brick with a slate roof and feature four chimneys. They are arranged as a double-depth plan, with a single frontage for each cottage. The doorways are situated on the left-hand side and are accessed by three steps. Numbers 4 and 6 each have one window on each floor. Numbers 8 and 10 have one window on the ground floor and two windows above. The windows of numbers 4 and 10 are 16-pane sashes, while the others have been altered to top-hung casements. Numbers 6, 8, and 10 have cellars with altered openings, now covered by hinged wooden covers, and the former open areas in front of the cottages have been filled in. The cottages are listed for their group value.
