Description
64, 66, and 68 Bank Parade are a row of three terraced townhouses, now used as offices, built around 1820 to 1825 by Anthony Buck. The buildings are constructed of coursed squared sandstone and feature a slate roof. Each house has a double-depth plan and is single-fronted, with various back extensions and additions. They rise three storeys above cellars and have three windows on each floor, with sill bands on the upper levels. The right-hand corner has rusticated quoins, and the left side at the second floor level connects with No. 62. Each house has a doorway on the left, framed by a moulded architrave and floating cornice, with a rectangular overlight. The doorways at Nos 66 and 68 have geometrical glazing bars. The windows are renewed 12-pane sashes that decrease in height from floor to floor, all featuring raised sills and plain surrounds. The roof is hipped at the right end and has two large lateral chimney stacks. The right-hand return wall has tripartite windows on all floors of the second bay, and there is a short projecting two-storey one-window rear wing linked to Nos 2 and 4 Bankhouse Street. The interiors have not been inspected. This row forms a group with Nos 58 to 62, which are adjacent to the left.
