Description
The former warehouse, located immediately north-west of Dick Mather Bridge, was built around 1882, likely by the architects Bradshaw and Gas. It served the Mather Lane cotton mills. The building is constructed of plain brick and has two storeys, with three storeys visible from Bridgwater Canal. It features an eight-window range facing Mather Lane, with continuous sill and lintel bands and a parapet on all sides. Some of the windows are blind. There are taking-in doorways located in the sixth bay, which are positioned under a raised and shaped parapet that includes a hoist. The elevations are irregular, particularly the side facing the canal, which has a taking-in bay similar to the front. The building also has a moulded plinth. It is included for its group value with Mather Lane Mill No 2.
