Description
The Receptacle is a pair of almshouses, now converted into three houses, built in 1772. The structure is made of dressed stone with ashlar dressings and features a hipped stone slate roof. It has two storeys and five bays, with rusticated quoins. The windows consist of paired pointed lights with small-paned glazing, with the second and third bays on the ground floor also featuring paired windows. The entrances have pointed tympana; the second and fourth bays have been altered to windows, while the others retain 20th-century doors. There are three cross-axial stacks. The left side of the building has an external stair leading to a first-floor entrance, which is now a window. The rear of the building is similar in appearance.
