Description

This small town house dates from approximately the 1820s to 1840s and has been altered since its original construction. It is built of painted brick with sandstone dressings on the west gable, which is slate-hung. The roof is slate. The building follows a double-depth, single-fronted plan, with a set-back wing to the left. It has two storeys over a cellar and features a three-window front. A first-floor sill band and a moulded cornice run along the front. A round-headed doorway is located on the left, accessed by three steps and featuring slender fluted columns, a panelled door, and a fanlight with radiating metal tracery. The ground floor has two unhorned sash windows with 12 panes each, featuring raised sills and wedge lintels. Above, there are three similar sash windows with 12 panes. Two chimneys are positioned at the right-hand gable. The set-back wing to the left is of two lower storeys and contains a 16-pane sash window on the ground floor, and a 15-pane sash window above. The interior has not been inspected.
