Description
This is a mid to later 18th-century town house, or an extension to an existing town house, now incorporated into a hotel alongside No. 136. It's constructed of handmade red brick in a Flemish bond, with a sandstone plinth and dressings, and a slate roof. The building has a double-depth plan attached to the right-hand gable of No. 136 and projects forward, featuring a convex corner on the left.
The architecture is Georgian in style, and the building stands three storeys high with four windows. A plinth is formed from massive stone blocks. A doorway is situated in the left-hand corner, with renewed joinery, a convex overlight containing geometric panes, a plain frieze, and a moulded cornice. A taller doorway occupies the fourth bay, featuring a plain surround, 20th-century double doors, and an unusually tall nine-pane overlight (or window) beneath a wedge lintel. Three twelve-pane sashes are present at ground floor level, with four on each floor above. The second-floor windows are shorter and have square panes. All windows have raised sills and wedge lintels. An altered chimney stack is visible on the centre of the front slope, and a partly raised coped gable extends to the right. The rear of the building has been altered. The interior has not been inspected. The building forms a group with No. 136 to the left and No. 134, which is linked to No. 136.
