Description
The Four Seasons Hotel, originally a farmhouse, dates from the mid-18th century and features Flemish bond brickwork with stone dressings and a graduated slate roof. It has a double-depth central-staircase plan with two storeys plus an attic. The building has a stone plinth, rusticated quoins, overhanging eaves, and gable stacks, one of which has a stone cornice. The façade consists of three bays, with a central six-panel door that has a rusticated surround and an oversized keystone. There are a total of four window openings fitted with 20th-century replacement tripartite sashes, flat brick arches with keystones, and stone sills. Above the door, a blank opening features a heraldic shield and a scroll inscribed "DEUS REGIT OMNIA". The attic storey has sash windows in the gable. Inside, the building retains a turned baluster dogleg staircase. The attached buildings at the rear are not included in this listing.
