Description

The Downs Cottage is an early 19th-century house. It is built of pebbledashed brickwork with a graduated slate roof. The house has a double-depth, central-staircase plan with two bays on either side of the central doorway. The front elevation is four bays wide, featuring a four-panel door with a flat canopy supported by slender columns, positioned between bays two and three. There are three windows on the ground floor and four on the first floor, all with stone sills and 16-pane sashes. Two ridge chimney stacks are visible.
