Description
Higher Little Bank Farmhouse and the adjoining barn date back to the 18th century, with a lintel marked from the 1740s and an earlier wing possibly from the 17th century. The building is constructed of squared rubble and features a roof made of graduated stone slate and 20th-century tiles for the barn. The farmhouse has three bays and is two stories high, with a single-depth layout. The barn is located to the left, while the earlier wing is positioned at right angles to the right side, along with a rear outshut.
The first bay has a square-cut door surround that is dated, with a window above it. A 20th-century porch obscures an inserted door between the second and third bays. The farmhouse includes two three-light windows, a five-light window, and a six-light flat-faced stone mullion window, although some mullions are missing. The earlier wing features a four-light double-chamfered stone mullion window (with two missing mullions) and has three and five-light mullioned windows on the right side of the first floor. Brick stacks are also present.
