Description

This is a farmhouse and adjoining barn, dating to 1714, as indicated by the “HL 1714” on the keystone. The farmhouse is constructed of squared rubble with a graduated stone slate roof. It is a 2-bay, 2-storey building, with a wing to the rear and a 20th-century lean-to on the left. A door on the left side has a chamfered surround and the dated keystone. Stone quoins are visible. The front of the farmhouse features 5-light, double-chamfered stone mullion windows on each floor, though two mullions have been removed from the ground-floor windows, and a 2-light window is set above the door, from which the mullion has also been removed. A brick chimney stack is present. The barn attached to the right is of a later date and includes a 19th-century door and window opening. It has a 3-light, flat-faced stone mullion window on the first floor (with one mullion removed), two blocked doors, and a hayloft hatch.
