Description
The John Leech grave headstone, located adjacent to the porch of St. Michael and All Angels' Church, dates back to 1689. It is made of stone and features an inscription that reads: "Here Resteth the Body of John Leech of Hurst Buried the 16 day of October 1689 aged 92 years whereby Anne his wife he had issue 12 children and in his life time was Father to 12, Grandfather to 75, Great Grandfather to 92, Great Great Grandfather to 2, in all 181." The headstone also displays an appropriate coat of arms.
