Description
St George's Church of England Secondary Modern and Primary Schools, built around 1905, is designed in a late Gothic style. The senior school is constructed of red brick with ashlar dressings and features two storeys, a two-storey canted bay, and two bays that are one storey high. It has mullion and transom windows with leaded lights and a range of four gables, along with a stone-capped plinth. The junior school building is one tall storey and follows a similar architectural style. The centre block, which is two storeys and made from similar materials, has been modernised. This school complex was built as part of the church complex established by George Fearn, a brewer, and is grouped with St George's Church, St George's Church of England Primary School, a wall, and gate piers, along with the Vicarage.
