Description
This is a barn located to the west of Goyt Hall, dating from the 16th century and later. It is built from coursed red sandstone rubble and features a stone slate roof that incorporates cruck frames. The barn consists of three bays, with the first bay constructed in a different period and style, and it has a lean-to structure against the gable. There are vents on two levels, a door to the first bay, and a large doorway to the third bay. Inside, there are two open cruck trusses with collars, double cruck spurs, collar yokes, and one remaining wind brace. Purlins support later rafters, and there is also one collar and tie-beam truss along with one inclined queen-post truss.
