Description
The Goyt Viaduct is a railway viaduct built in 1865 for the Manchester, Sheffield and Lincolnshire Railway Company. It is constructed from rock-faced snecked stone and features a wrought iron girder. The structure consists of seven semi-circular arch spans and one iron girder that carries the railway over the River Goyt, which is approximately 30 meters below. The arches are supported by tapering square piers with rock-faced quoins. Additionally, there is a rock-faced stone band located below the parapet and a coping on top.
