Description
The aqueduct located southwest of Peers Cottages on the Peak Forest Canal was built between 1794 and 1801, with later alterations in the 19th century. It was designed by engineers Benjamin Outram and Thomas Brown. The structure is made of dressed stone and features a skew segmental arch with rock-faced voussoirs. It has concave retaining walls with a parapet on one side only, two rock-faced bands, rounded copings, and rock-faced square terminating piers.
