Description

The wall, archways, and gates to the courtyard of the Town Hall in Salford were built in the later 19th century. The structure features rusticated ashlar gate piers and overarches, complemented by cast-iron gates. The central gates are flanked by side gates, which are separated by piers adorned with wreaths in low relief. Above the side gates, there are shallow segmental arches with stressed keystones. The design is finished with a modillion cornice.
