Description
The Statue of Prince Albert, located on the north side of The Crescent in Salford, was created in 1864 by the sculptor Matthew Noble. Made of limestone, the statue depicts Prince Albert in academic dress, with a pile of books at his feet, and stands on a high pedestal raised on steps. This statue is likely one of the first to be erected after Albert's death in 1861 and was originally placed in Peel Park.
