Description

This is a terrace of four houses, now offices, forming part of an earlier, longer terrace. The terrace dates to the early 19th century and is located in Salford. The buildings are constructed of brick with a low-pitched roof of Welsh slate. The terrace has three storeys and a twelve-window front, with three windows per house. The main entrance to the first three houses is on the left, and to the right of the final house, each featuring a six-panelled door with an overlight, approached by steps and set within a moulded architrave accented by Ionic shafts and a flat entablature. The windows are 15-pane sashes on the first floor, 12-pane sashes on the ground floor, and 9-pane sashes in the attic storey, all with flat-arched, gauged brick heads. The building has a painted stone plinth and window aprons to the ground-floor windows, and a continuous sill band to the first floor. A plain wooden eaves cornice tops the facade. The return elevation to Upper Cleminson Street shows two windows, followed by paired windows in a projecting rear wing. End wall stacks are present. The interior has not been inspected.
