Description

The Old Toll House is a 19th-century toll house located on Edenfield Road in Rochdale. It is constructed from watershot stone and features a slate roof with brick additions. The building is two stories tall and has a single bay, with contemporary lean-tos on the right and rear, as well as a later addition on the left and rear, all of which are single-storey. There is a door on the right side with a square-cut monolithic surround, and a window on each floor with stone lintels and sills, fitted with 20th-century casements. Each gable has two tall windows. The lean-tos are set back, with the one on the right having stone quoins.
