Description
Nos. 246, 248, and 250 on Edenfield Road are mid-17th century houses that have been converted into three cottages. They are constructed from coursed rubble and topped with a slate roof. The layout follows a three-unit hearth-passage plan. The buildings feature stone quoins and square-cut monolithic jambs, although the doors are of a later date.
On the ground floor, there are double chamfered cavetto moulded mullioned windows with four, six, and four lights, though two or three of the mullions have been removed. These windows are topped with a continuous hood mould. The first floor has four-light flush cavetto moulded mullion windows, each with two mullions removed. The eaves line has been raised, and there is a brick chimney stack to the left of each unit.
