Description
Firs Hall is a house that has been converted into offices. It was built in the mid-19th century and features Flemish bond brick with stone dressings and a slate roof. The building has an L-shaped plan with three bays by three bays and stands two storeys tall, showcasing a classical architectural style.
Notable features include a projecting plinth, a first-floor sill band, and an eaves cornice adorned with Ionic modillions. The rusticated quoins add to its character. The central bay is slightly advanced and pedimented, featuring a flat-roofed porch with round-arched openings on either side, corner pilasters, and a modillioned entablature.
There are two ground-floor windows and three first-floor windows, all with eared architraves, flat hoods, and 4-pane sashes. The first-floor windows are enhanced with enriched brackets. The roof is hipped and includes ridge chimney stacks, while similar windows are found on the side elevations. Firs Hall was built for Henry Warmsley, a mill owner.
