Description

This is a pair of houses, numbered 6, 8, and 10, located on Hill End Road. They were constructed in the late 18th century. The houses are built of hammer-dressed watershot stone, with a roof of graduated stone slate. They have a three-bay, three-storey, single-depth plan. The front facade features two doorways with simply shaped surrounds. The ground floor has windows of 7, 5, and 6 lights; the first floor, 7, 5, and 7 lights; and the second floor, 16 and 7 lights. All windows have recessed, flat-faced stone mullions. Three rendered chimney stacks are visible at the ridge. A small porch wing is attached to the left gable. Other features include 2-light windows in the gable and rear elevations, and a blocked "taking-in" door.
