Description

Delph Lodge comprises two houses built in the early 19th century. The houses are constructed of hammer-dressed watershot stone with a slate roof. Originally an L-shaped range of five by four bays, a section was filled in during the later 19th century. The building features raised quoins and an eaves cornice with a blocking course. The central doorway has a stepped approach, a fanlight, and an open pediment supported by three-quarter columns. There are four ground floor and five first-floor windows, all with sash windows lacking glazing bars, set within square-cut stone surrounds. A hipped roof and side-wall chimney stacks are present. Similar windows are visible on the side elevation. An arched stair window is located at the rear. A later infill projects to the right and includes a canted bay window on the ground floor and a two-light first-floor window with arched lights and a hoodmould.
