Description
38 King Street is a Grade II listed building that includes three cottages, with deeds dating back to 1776. The structure is built from watershot hammer-dressed stone, featuring a pebble-dashed gable and a graduated stone slate roof. It has two bays and three storeys. The cottages at Nos. 1 and 2 Bridge End each have a square-cut door surround on the left and four-light stone mullion windows on each floor; the windows in No. 1 are recessed, while those in No. 2 are flat-faced. No. 1 also has a blocked taking-in door at the second floor level. The building includes stone quoins and a central ridge chimney stack with a cornice. Access to No. 38 King Street is via a stone flight of steps leading to the first floor level, and the mullioned windows in the gable have been pebble-dashed.
