Description
Nos. 9 and 11 on High Street are two houses that now include a shop, dating from the late 18th century. They are constructed from hammer-dressed stone and feature a graduated stone slate roof. The building has three bays and three storeys, with each bay stepping back to fit the triangular plot. Stone quoins are present at the corners.
Bay 1, which is of slightly later construction, has a square-cut door surround and a 20th-century shop window on the ground floor. The first and second floors feature 4-light recessed chamfered stone mullion windows, which have been rendered over. The door to No. 11 is located in bay 3 and has a shaped lintel. Bay 2 includes 4-light cavetto-moulded stone mullion windows on each floor, while bay 3 has 2-light recessed chamfered mullion windows. A shaped cast iron bollard protects the right corner of the building. A ridge chimney stack is also present.
