Description

A pair of small houses located on Ladybarn Lane, Fallowfield, dating from the late 18th or early 19th century and subsequently altered. The houses are built of red brick in Flemish bond; number 96 has been cement-washed and painted white. They have 20th-century pantile roofs. Each house has a double-depth plan and is single-fronted, with rear extensions and various 20th-century additions to the rear. The architectural style incorporates Gothick details. The houses are two storeys high with cellars. Each has a doorway to the right with a 20th-century door and small porch, and a segmental-headed transomed 6-light casement window on each floor. The windows of number 96 have 20th-century small-pane glazing and pseudo-shutters, while those of number 98 retain original, very thin intersecting glazing bars. The rear and interior have been altered.
