Description

Norton Place is a terrace row of three houses, with No. 363 currently used as offices. Built in the mid-19th century, the buildings have been altered over time. They feature a white-painted stucco exterior with black-painted sandstone dressings and a slate roof. The design includes a double-depth plan with short back extensions; No. 359 is single-fronted while the others are double-fronted.

The terrace is two storeys high with a basement and attic, displaying an almost symmetrical eight-window range, highlighted by a two-window gabled centre. The façade has banded and vermiculated corner pilasters, a first-floor sill-band, and bracketed eaves. The ground floor is notable for five canted bay windows arranged in a 1-2-2 pattern, each with pilasters and bracketed cornices, along with doorways that feature Corinthian pilaster doorcases. The doors have round-headed glazed upper panels and rectangular overlights.

The first-floor windows are adorned with shouldered architraves and keystones, with a plaque inscribed "NORTON PLACE" positioned between the central windows. Above this, in the gable, is a small round-headed attic window framed by a pilastered and keyed architrave. Brick chimneys are located on the ridge and at both gables. The rear and interior of the buildings have not been inspected.
