Description
Nos. 18 and 20 St Ann's Square is a town house that has been converted into a restaurant. It is likely from the late 18th century, remodeled in the 19th century, and has undergone further alterations. The exterior features painted stucco on brick and has a rectangular plan with back extensions that are at right angles to the street. The building is four storeys high and has four symmetrical windows. The ground floor has been modified for the restaurant use. The first floor features windows with shouldered architraves and altered glazing, along with a moulded plaster frieze that may include palm-frond motifs. Above this, there is a moulded sill-band for the second floor windows. The second and third floors have sash windows with moulded architraves; the second floor windows are shouldered and have scallop crests, while the third floor windows are square. The gutter cornice is supported by simplified brackets. The rear and interior of the building were not inspected.
