Description
No. 68 Dale Street is a small warehouse, now used as a yarn merchant's, likely built in the mid-19th century. The building is constructed of red brick, possibly handmade, arranged in English garden wall bond, with a sandstone plinth and a roof that is concealed by a parapet. It has a basement and three storeys, featuring a five-window front with a sill-band and a rebuilt parapet. At the right-hand end, there is a square-headed doorway with a rusticated stone surround that includes a keystone. The windows are segmental-headed, four-pane sashed with gauged brick heads. The left side wall, facing Paton Street, has a centrally located segmental-headed doorway and windows similar to those at the front. This building is likely one of the earliest warehouses on Dale Street and is included for its group value.
