Description
Mill House and Mill Yard House is a house that likely dates from the early 18th century, with its front elevation remodeled in the early 19th century. It is constructed from watershot coursed rubble with dressed quoins and features a slate roof. The building stands three storeys high and has a regular four-window arrangement, with a moulded drip-course between the first and second floors. The basement has mullioned windows, while the other windows feature 19th-century lintels and sills, along with 20th-century casements. The doorways have stone surrounds and a moulded cornice, with one doorway (to number 8) having a rectangular overlight. At the rear, there is a three-window range, with all but one window having hoodmoulds; originally, these were three-light windows with mullions, which still survive in two of the windows, along with chamfered surrounds. There is also a later storeyed wing.
