Description

The Edge family chest tomb, located in St Mary's churchyard, dates from the late 18th century and is made of stone. It consists of three separate slabs resting on a single base, which is designed to resemble three parallel tombs. The base features reeded moulding that creates panels, with raised moulded stone circles in each panel and ovals in the two long side panels. The upper slabs are inscribed with simply decorated borders, commemorating Richard Edge, who died in 1769, James Edge, who died in 1802, and John Edge, who died in 1806.
