Description
A pair of chest tombs, dating from the early 19th century, is located about 4 meters southeast of the porch of the Church of St Constantine. Both tombs are made of stone and feature slate lids. The southernmost tomb commemorates Richard Edgecumbe of Edgecumbe, who died in 1818. It consists of four blocks of granite, has a chamfered plinth, and a slate lid with a border decorated with incised arabesques and anthemia at the corners. The northernmost tomb commemorates George Harrison, who died in 1831. This tomb is made of ashlar, has a hollow chamfered plinth and cornice, and also features a slate lid with a decorated border.
