Description

A terrace of seven houses built around 1850-60. The houses are constructed from random rubble with slate roofs, with the gable end of number 7 slate hung. They are two storeys high and have a seven-window facade, with number 7 being a single-unit dwelling. The terrace was built in two phases, the height of the houses stepping to accommodate the sloping ground. The windows are replacements in original openings, with wedge lintels, and the doors have plain architraves. Stone end wall stacks are present. The houses are of double pile plan. Integral stone walls enclose yards to the rear of the terrace. The interiors have not been inspected. These houses were originally part of the planned industrial community of Eagley Bank, developed in conjunction with Chadwick’s Eagley Mills.
