Description
This is a terrace of back-to-back cottages, now converted into six houses, built around 1830 and subsequently altered. The construction is of coursed and squared stone with a slate roof. The terrace originally comprised ten single-unit, back-to-back dwellings, along with a two-unit, single-depth range at No. 18, facing Bazley Street. The front doors are framed by moulded architraves topped with an entablature hood. Windows have been replaced but retain the original openings and wedge lintels. Brick and stone chimneys rise from the roof ridge. The interior has not been inspected. This terrace is part of the model village of Barrow Bridge, established around 1831 by Robert Gardner to serve the nearby Dean Mills complex, which he also built.
