Description

The Finishers Arms and numbers 489 to 493 form a public house and a terrace of three houses, dating from around 1830. The building appears to have been constructed in phases. The public house and the immediately adjacent house, which is now part of the pub, represent an earlier building phase. The public house section is two storeys and has a four-window front, originally comprising two single units. It has an entrance with a window to the left, followed by two windows; the window to the left was originally a doorway. End wall stacks are present. Numbers 489 to 493 form a later phase, also two storeys and originally with a six-window front and central entrances. The windows were formerly two-pane sashes, though many have now been replaced while remaining in the original window openings and retaining wedge lintels. Window openings were modified in number 493. The doorways have moulded architraves, and the doors themselves are likely from around 1930, with panelled fronts and oval windows. Axial stacks rise from a hipped roof. The interior has not been inspected.
