Description
Nos. 21-35 on Gaskell Street is a terrace of eight houses built in the early 19th century. The houses are made of coursed and squared watershot rubble and feature slate roofs. The terrace is two storeys high and has an eight-window range, consisting of eight single-unit, double-pile dwellings, which have blocked cellars that may have originally served as loom shops. The terrace was constructed in two phases, each consisting of four houses. The doorways are accessed by steps and have plain stone architraves. The windows have been renewed but remain in their original openings, featuring flat arched painted stone heads. There are blocked mullioned cellar lights that are partly hidden by the raised street level, and the houses have end wall stacks. The interior has not been inspected.
