Description
This is a terrace of five cottages built in the early 19th century, located on London Road in Stockton Heath. The cottages are constructed of brown brick in a Flemish bond pattern, with a gabled roof covered in graded grey slate tiles. There are four brick chimneys, one serving each cottage. Each cottage is two storeys high, with a single window. They have recessed windows with 16-pane sashes. The lower sash in the bedroom window of No. 12 has six panes instead of the standard eight. Some glazing bars have been removed from the windows of Nos. 16 and 20. The cottages have boarded doors set within round-arched openings, each with a radial-bar fanlight above. The doors have been fitted with modern hinges and furniture. This is a simple but well-preserved example of its type.
