Description

Walton Hall Lodge, now serving as the lodge to the crematorium, was built around 1838. It is constructed of brown brick dressed in sandstone and features gabled roofs made of graded Westmorland green slate. The building has two diminishing chimneys with diamond flues and is designed as a T-shaped asymmetrical single-storey cottage.

At the front, there is a stone-mullioned oriel facing the drive, along with a gabled porch that includes a stone Jacobean-arched doorway. This doorway has a shaped door located in the right corner of the "T" and is set on a moulded stone plinth. The window surrounds are painted, and the copings are weathered, featuring shaped kneelers and slender sandstone finials on the gables, although the finial on the right gable is missing. Both the front and rear gables have stone-capped square brick bays, with a stone-mullioned window present only in the front face.
