Description

These gates, gatepiers, and screens date from approximately 1838 and are constructed from sandstone and wrought iron. The pair of iron gates are painted black and gold, featuring wavy uprights and scrollwork with simple foliate decoration. The gates are flanked by rusticated sandstone piers, each with a plinth, cap, and a ball finial. S-shaped screens extend to each side, incorporating wrought iron railings set upon sandstone plinths. A rusticated pier with a plinth, cap, and ball finial is situated at the centre of each screen, while a simpler pier without a ball finial marks the outer end.
