Description

The ice house in the grounds of Norton Priory is a structure likely dating from the 18th century. It is built of brick and covered by an earth mound, giving it a beehive shape. The floor of the ice house is nearly at ground level and is accessed via a short tunnel that leads into a circular, domed chamber. The entrance is supported by minor stone retaining walls and is now secured by a modern door.
