Description

The building is a former hearse-house, now functioning as an electricity sub-station, dating from around 1833. It is constructed of red sandstone and features a later blue quarry tile roof. The structure is a rectangular single-storey building with a wide door opening that has a semi-circular arch, complete with a keystone and springing blocks. There is a pulvinated string course and a moulded eaves cornice. On the west side and rear, small vents with semi-circular heads and keystones are present. Originally, this building was used to house the horse-drawn hearse during the time when the parish church managed its own funeral arrangements.
