Description
The gate piers, gate, and side walls to Village Farm House were built in the 19th century and are made of yellow sandstone in the Jacobean Revival style. The square bases of the gate piers feature angles formed from quadrants of fluted Doric columns, which are separated by plain panelled pilasters. The caps of the piers have triglyphs at the corners, with only four visible on each face, and they are finished with nutules and an abacus that has a cavetto moulded base, which likely supported urns that are no longer present. The piers are integrated into a low stone wall that is curved in plan and support a wrought iron screen with overthrows, which includes a central gate that has a curved head and is half the width of the opening.
