Description

Dunhamhall Farmhouse, located in Dunham on the Hill, dates to approximately 1696 and has been altered since. The farmhouse is constructed with a pebbledash finish on brick, with a stone plinth and dressings. It has a steeply pitched slate roof. The building has two and a half storeys and originally had two windows on each side of a projecting porch, with a small closet situated above the porch. The windows are now replaced timber casements. Horizontal bands are present on the first and second floors, now obscured by the pebbledash. Chimneys are located midway along the ridge and project to the right side of the building. The farmhouse features sandstone quoins, a gable parapet, and kneelers. The closet above the porch has two small, rectangular leaded casements, one on each side. A moulded stone parapet and kneelers are above the porch and closet, with one possibly being reused. A studded door is positioned at the back of the porch, which incorporates stone seats on each side. A tablet inscribed “WZH 1696” is visible on the building. The interior is not accessible.
