Description
Smithy Farmhouse is a 17th-century farmhouse that has been altered and added to over time. It is constructed of brown brick with a stone plinth and is partly built on natural rock, topped with a slate roof. The building features three windows, which are three-light timber casements with cambered heads. The doorcase and door have been replaced. The right-hand end of the farmhouse has been altered and contains a blocked first-floor opening. There is a brick band at the first floor level and diagonally set eaves dentils. A projecting stepped brick stack is located at the left side, and there is a replaced brick stack on the ridge. At the rear, there are lean-to additions, one of which can only be accessed at the upper level via a replaced timber ladder.
