Description
The barn at Hapsford Hall dates from the 18th century or early 19th century. It is constructed of brick with a stone plinth and features a slate roof, arranged in five bays following an ABABA rhythm. The second and fourth bays have recessed arches with a series of horizontal air vents. The side and central bays contain arched openings, one of which is blocked, and they have rebates for doors. Above each opening is a round pitch hole with a stone cill. The roadside elevation is similar but includes square ground floor windows in the left and right bays, along with blank pitch holes. From the yard, a central door leads to a passage that has an arcade of four brick arches on the left, beyond which are stalls for cattle. The right bay also contains stalls. The side of the barn, which is under an added drifthouse roof, features a similar recessed arch with vents and a loft opening above.
