Description
The table tomb of James Okell and others, located in St Peter's churchyard, dates from 1748 and is made of stone. It features fluted antae at the corners, a recessed panel at each end, and two recessed panels divided by a pilaster on each side. The tomb is inscribed with the following: "Here Lieth the Body of James son of George Okell of Sutton who died March the 10th 1748 in the 18th Year of his Age. Also here lieth the Body of George Okell father of the above-named James who departed this life on the 28th February 1736 in the 28th year of his Age. Also here lieth the Body of Jane Okell Wife of the above named George Okell who died November the 26th 1792 aged 89 years."
