SJ 56 NW WILLINGTON CP WILLINGTON LANE (West Side)

3/78 South and east terrace wall at Willington Hall.

GV II

Terrace walls: c1830 for Col W Tomkinson. Ashlar and dressed red sandstone blocks. Plain stone wall with moulded coping has square piers dividing it. At the left end of the south side is a projecting portion which carries a balustrade and a semi-circular vantage point with solid parapet with fielded square and oval panels. Flight of 6 steps at right side. East wall is shaped and has a semi-circular projection with C20 railings to contain sundial (qv).
