Description
The eastern entrance of the southern gateway to Tirley Garth was built around 1910 by C E Mallows. It features gatepiers made of bossed red sandstone. There are three rectangular piers, each with two-stage steeply hipped capstones and canted jambs that have similar caps. The right side includes a recent wooden gateway for vehicle access. The left side has a pair of piers with four steps that decrease in size on each side, along with a stone bar that forms the stile. This structure is listed for its group value.
