Description
The Lodge is a lodge built around 1910 by C E Mallows, with sympathetic additions made around 1970. It features pebble-dashed brick with buff sandstone dressings and a York stone-slate roof with one ridge chimney. The building is two stories high and has a four-bay west front. It has a stone plinth, quoins, and a quarter-round stone band at the first floor. The eaves are corbelled out on stone slates.
The left end bay includes a three-light stone mullioned window with a label mould. The second bay features a gabled two-story porch with a four-centred arched, chamfered doorcase that contains a door with vertical rails and iron strap hinges. Next to the porch is a moulded niche with a small light and a flat moulded hood above. There is a three-light stone mullioned window above the porch. The third and fourth bays have five-light stone mullioned windows, with small windows in raking half-dormers above. A parallel range has been added to the rear left.
